Percy Rosenbloom, Jr.

Born in 1928 in Jacksonville, Fla., Percy Rosenbloom Jr., who attained the rank of Eagle Scout at age 14, spent much of his teenage years and all of his adult life in the building service contracting industry. His father, Percy Rosenbloom, Sr. started a floor and window cleaning business in 1914. It was in this business that Percy Jr. gained first-hand experience in the care and maintenance of commercial and residential floors — first as a lad working floor machines and window squeegees; and later, during high school, as a crew manager. It was early in his adult life that he had a vision for commercial contract cleaning. Within a few years he built on that vision by creating Royal Services, Inc., which at one time was the largest janitorial contractor in Florida with offices in Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa and Orlando.

Never one to accept the status quo and an exceptional visionary, Percy Rosenbloom Jr. pioneered many innovative concepts throughout his career:  automated work order scheduling software, computer based time keeping, on-site employee identification and badge systems, key control methodologies, and highly effective worker safety incentive programs. Many of these concepts evolved into separate business units. The scheduling software became Creative Management Systems which installed its famous CAMS preventive maintenance and work order tracking software in hospitals, universities, government facilities and corporations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The employee identification system and badge concept became Avondale Badge Co., which is one of today's leading suppliers of identification systems and supplies. But his most ambitious and recognizable concept is unquestionably the SaniGLAZE Tile and Grout Restoration Process.

Through his vision and passion for a process that would finally solve one of the ultimate facility maintenance dilemmas – filthy, impossible to clean tile and grout surfaces – the SaniGLAZE process was born. Today, SaniGLAZE International is the world’s leader in tile and grout restoration.  All thanks to the clear and relentless vision of one man.
